Synergy Radiator


Aluminum radiators and heater cores allow for greater heat transfer using the same or less space required for traditional copper/brass components. This is a significant benefit; you can trim vehicle weight in order to increase fuel efficiency while at the same time running engines hotter to decrease tailpipe emissions. But with this benefit come common headaches due to the fact that aluminum components require more detailed attention than their copper/brass counterparts.

Most OEM radiators are designed to get the job done at the lowest possible cost. Efficiency and weight are rarely a concern. Tubes in a radiator are the primary source of cooling and fins are secondary. Since tubing is much more expensive than fins, OEM radiators will often skimp out on the tubes and add more fins to keep costs in line. Aftermarket aluminum radiators do just the opposite. By having more or wider tubes instead of fins, airflow properties and efficiency are greatly improved.

A couple of fringe benefits from an aluminum radiator are strength and weight. End tanks are welded to the tubes for strength instead of brazed and the lightweight nature of aluminum keeps the pounds off.
